Linda was elected to the Iowa High School Golf Coaches Association in 2006. She served as Linn-Mar’s girl’s golf coach for 30 years.

Linda’s coaching record was 296-118. She was named Cedar Rapids Metro Coach of the Year 8 times. Linda was Coach of the Year in the Mississippi Valley Conf. twice -1995, 2003. Linda served on the Iowa Girls High School Golf Advisory Board from 1973 to 1976.

Linda was an accomplished player as well. In 1964, she won the individual title at the girl’s State Tournament. She was the State Amateur champ twice (1973 & 1977) and won the Senior State Amateur title in 1977. Linda is the only women to win an amateur  state title in 3 different decades.
