Ed was inducted into the Iowa High School Golf Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 2007.

Ed coached girls golf at Solon from 1984-2005 (21 years). During that time, his team won 6 conference titles, made 2 state appearances with his 1995 team winning the State title.

From 1984-2005, Ed ran the junior golf program at Lake McBride Golf Course in Solon.

This is the third Hall of Fame Ed has been inducted into. In 1993, he was inducted into the Iowa Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame and in 2003, he joined the Iowa Girls Basketball Coaches Hall of Fame.
