Paul is the head boy's coach at Clinton. He has held that position since 1980. During the 80's, Paul also served as the girl's coach at Clinton.

Paul has taken several teams to the State tournament with his Fall 1991 team finishing 2nd.

Paul has been a member of the Leadership Board for the Iowa High School Golf Coaches Association since it inception.
