Mike has taught at Ottumwa High School for the past 27 years. He has served as their Head Boy's Varsity Golf Coach for the past 19 season. Mike also officiates boys and girls basketball. Mike's teams have won 8 State titles (most recently in 2008)with 3 runner-up finishes.

Mike was instrumental in the beginning of the Iowa High School Golf Coaches Association. He served as President of the Association since it's start - December 1999. He is currently the Association's Vice-President.
 

Mike teaches in the Business Department at Ottumwa High School.
