RJ has Coached the Ames High Boys Team since 1999. During that time, Ames has won 2 Conference Championships, 2 District Championship, been to State 9 times and finished 2nd in 2007.

RJ has been the Girl’s Assistant Coach at Ames since the 2007 season. During that time, Ames has won 2 Conference Championships, 2 District Championships, been to State 4 times with 3rd place finishes in 2007 and 2008 and 2 "Back to Back" State Championships in 2009 and 2010.

RJ teaches Physical Education, Supervises/Teaches Driver’s Education for Drive Tek, and is owner/operator of Voss Grill and Chill (Traeger Wood Pellet Grills).

RJ has a family of 4, Brietta (wife), Jaycent (6 yr old son), and Avery (2 yr old daughter)
